OneHeart: A Place for Hope & Healing is pleased to announce the expansion of the OneHeart Board of Directors this spring to include 11 well-respected members of the Rapid City community.
These individuals have professional experience ranging from medicine and mental health counseling, to business and law. Many have served previously on other nonprofit boards, and all are committed to the OneHeart mission of helping to move people out of poverty and into more stable lives. The future transformation campus is tentatively scheduled to open its doors to guests in January 2021.
As of April 2020, the OneHeart Board of Directors is as follows:
Julie Schmitz Jensen, President Jean Smith, Secretary/Treasurer Scyller J. Borglum, Ph.D. Dr. Sam Mortimer Wendy Rankin, Ph.D. Peg Seljeskog
Nick Stroot, Vice President Bev Warne, Lakota elder Michaele Hofmann, J.D. John Pierce Jessica Rogers, J.D.
The OneHeart board underwent a series of changes in the past year. Initially, as OneHeart sought its 501(c)3 status, only three people served on the board: the late Ray Hillenbrand, Jim Scull, and Rob Mudge. Visit Rapid City President/CEO Julie Schmitz Jensen replaced Hillenbrand after his passing in May 2019. Six more people joined the board last summer as Scull and Mudge stepped into ex-officio roles, and more additions were made in late 2019 and early 2020. The board currently sits at 11.
